Automated Crypto Trading Bot with Real-Time Market Analysis, Risk Management, and AI Integration
This research details the design, development, and evaluation of a fully automated cryptocurrency trading bot. This bot performs real-time market analysis, executes trades on its own, and uses AI for predictive modeling. The project took place at Parul University. It combines technical indicators, trading strategies, risk management systems, and machine learning to create a smart trading framework. The system connects to cryptocurrency exchanges like Binance and Coinbase with secure API keys. It fetches live market data and processes technical indicators such as EMA, RSI, MACD, and Bollinger Bands. It uses predefined strategies to generate buy and sell signals. A stop-loss and take-profit system helps protect user capital, while optional backtesting modules assess strategy performance using historical data. The trading bot has a modular structure with a React.js frontend dashboard, a Flask backend API, and a PostgreSQL database for secure storage. It also has an AI/ML layer that uses Random Forest and LSTM models for predicting price trends. Real-time updates occur through WebSockets to reduce latency. All sensitive information, including API keys, is encrypted with industry-standard methods. The system also supports multi-factor authentication. The methodology outlines requirement analysis, system design, architecture layers, data collection, signal generation, decision-making logic, trade execution, and ongoing performance monitoring. The evaluation involved two methods: historical backtesting and three months of live paper trading. Backtesting with two years of BTC and ETH data produced an annualized return of 45.2%, compared to 30.1% for a Buy-and-Hold strategy, with a win rate of 62.4%. In live testing, the system achieved a projected annual return of 38% while reducing drawdown and improving risk-adjusted returns. The bot showed strong performance during bear markets by safeguarding capital and generating positive returns even when asset prices dropped. The research includes a thorough literature review of algorithmic trading, ML forecasting techniques, deep learning models, and reinforcement learning. The implementation section discusses backend and frontend development, database design, ML integration, security practices, testing methods, and deployment using containers. Security and privacy measures ensure encrypted storage, restricted API keys, and continuous monitoring to prevent attacks. The conclusions emphasize the bot's effectiveness in minimizing emotional bias, enhancing decision-making consistency, and outperforming manual trading methods. Future developments will focus on adding sentiment analysis from social media, advanced reinforcement-learning agents, multi-asset trading, cloud scalability, and enhanced dashboards for greater user control. This research paper documents every part of the project, including motivation, problem definition, architectural diagrams, workflow models, system implementation, performance evaluation, results, and suggestions for future improvements.
