Light and Relic — Canonical Visual Style Specification (v1.7)
Light and Relic — Canonical Visual Style Specification (v1.7) defines the official aesthetic, material, and semantic framework of the Light and Relic project. This document establishes the authoritative visual rules that govern all canonical representations of the artefacts, ensuring long-term coherence across artistic, archival, and AI-driven interpretations. The specification outlines the project’s visual philosophy—rooted in low-key documentary ritualism, material authenticity, and provenance-driven meaning formation—and provides the non-negotiable constraints required for any accurate visual reproduction. It describes how real firelight, metal, stone, cold-foil materiality, shallow depth of field, and warm–cool duality form the core of the Light and Relic aesthetic. The document also anchors each canonical representation within the project’s provenance system, integrating: physical origin and pull data of the artefact documented locations of photography edition structure (1/3, 2/3, 3/3) RAW-file anchors Adobe FES signatures OpenTimestamps blockchain anchoring optional NFT provenance Together, these elements merge material presence, documentation, and cryptographic evidence into a unified aesthetic logic, forming the project’s evolving living provenance structure. Version 1.7 includes the global visual constraints, canonical style traits, methodological notes, and relic-level rules that define how Light and Relic must appear in any curatorial, archival, or machine-interpreted reproduction. This document serves as the official and authoritative reference for the Light and Relic visual style.
