Epimnisis Analogiki: A Recursive Methodology for Reconstructing Subjective Meaning in Technologically Mediated Environments

This article develops Epimnisis Analogiki as a contemporary philosophical methodology for reconstructing subjective meaning in technologically mediated lifeworlds. Drawing on Neoplatonic inwardness, phenomenological analyses of pre-reflective experience, analogical epistemology, and cybernetic conceptions of recursive organization, the system reframes self-knowledge as a dynamic process of remembrance rather than discovery. Instead of positing metaphysical absolutes, Epimnisis Analogiki introduces a procedural ontology grounded in three iterative stages: Introspective Descent, Analogical Structuring, and Dialogical Refinement. Through this triadic cycle, latent experiential structures are accessed, symbolically externalized, and critically re-evaluated in dialogue with both human interlocutors and artificial intelligence systems. The method situates inner order as a regulative ideal rather than a transcendent entity, treating analogy not as rhetorical ornament but as a constructive operator capable of stabilizing and transforming pre-reflective content. Dialogue functions as a hermeneutic filter that tests, expands, and reorganizes emergent analogical models while maintaining interpretive sovereignty against risks of projection, confabulation, or algorithmic bias. The framework is evaluated across interdisciplinary contexts—including cognitive science, psychology, AI studies, digital humanities, and philosophy of mind—revealing its methodological coherence and limitations within contemporary debates on distributed cognition, symbolic mediation, and technological co-constitution. Epimnisis Analogiki is presented not as a metaphysical doctrine but as an evolving philosophical experiment, offering a structured yet open-ended practice for reconfiguring subjective meaning under conditions of epistemic pluralism and digital saturation.
