NeoVaccineMate: A Technology-Enabled System to Improve Child Vaccination Coverage in India

One of the most significant but little-addressedproblems in developing countries like India is the timely andthorough vaccination of children. Even with governmentprograms and digital initiatives, persistent gaps includefragmented record systems, caregiver amnesia, vaccineresistance, and a lack of last-mile support continue to hinderuniversal coverage. These deficits lead to preventable diseaseepidemics among vulnerable groups. NeoVaccineMate, atechnologically enabled conceptual framework designed toenhance childhood immunization programs, is presented in thispaper. The system integrates linguistic communicationchannels, decision-support tools for community healthprofessionals, data-driven monitoring for programadministrators, and caregiver-specific reminders into a singleplatform. Unlike existing systems that mostly serve as staticrepositories or basic notification tools, NeoVaccineMate placesa higher priority on interaction, inclusivity in low-resourcecontexts, and adaptability across a range of scenarios.
