The Role of Higher Education Leadership in Equity and Inclusivity in AI-Enhanced Teaching and Learning in Three U.S. Colleges and Universities
Academic Research Announcement I am sharing my recent study, The Role of Higher Education Leadership in Equity and Inclusivity in AI-Enhanced Teaching and Learning in U.S. Colleges and Universities. The research examines leadership practices at Old Dominion University, the University of Northern Iowa, and the University of Maine. Including these institutions helps show how different colleges and universities approach AI-supported teaching and learning, which may be useful for readers across higher education. The study reviews how leadership behavior guides access to AI tools, faculty support, and expectations for responsible use. The analysis shows how clear communication from leadership shapes how faculty and students understand AI and apply it in academic settings. The study also observes how leadership behavior influences opportunities for students from various backgrounds. The goal is to show how colleges and universities can create fair use of AI through clear policies, reliable guidance, and practical support for faculty and students. I hope this study contributes to recent developments in research on leadership roles in AI-supported education and encourages further work across institutions.
