Cloud Computing in Education

Cloud computing has become an essential technology in education because of its ability to support online learning, storage, and collaboration. With the increasing use of tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom, educational institutions are shifting from traditional to cloud-based teaching methods. This study analyzed multiple research papers to investigate the benefits and challenges of cloud computing in education. The key benefits identified include cost reduction, flexibility, and real-time access to educational resources. However, several challenges were also observed, such as a lack of awareness, limited digital literacy, Internet dependency, and data privacy issues. To address one of these challenges, this study proposes a simple cloud-based awareness guide using free platforms such as Firebase and Google Sites. The aim was to help students and faculty in rural or semi-urban areas understand and adopt basic cloud tools for education. This study bridges the gap between theory and practice by offering a low-cost, real-world solution.
