LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT OF A CONVENTIONAL AND AN ALTERNATIVE SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSE: A COMPARATIVE STUDY
This record presents the conference paper “Life Cycle Assessment of a Conventional and an Alternative Single-Family House: A Comparative Study” authored by Viktor Kolčić, Ivana Carević, and Marijana Serdar. The paper was presented at the 79th RILEM Annual Week & ICONS 2025 – International Conference on Advances in Engineering and Technology for Sustainable Development, held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from August 24 to August 29, 2025. The study provides a comparative life cycle assessment (LCA) of two single-family house concepts, one conventional and one based on environmentally improved design solutions. By analyzing material use, embodied impacts, and operational performance, the paper highlights how alternative construction approaches can significantly reduce the overall environmental footprint of residential buildings. The findings contribute to the broader scientific efforts aimed at improving sustainable engineering practices and facilitating the shift toward environmentally responsible, low-impact built environments. This Zenodo entry archives the conference contribution and supports open access to the research for the broader scientific and professional community.
