Sexual problems in adolescents

Objective: This paper examines the influence of the online and social environment on adolescents' perceptions of sexuality, investigating difficulties related to sexuality and the risk of early pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The study explores the relationship between social pressures, exposure to information about sexuality through the media, and their impact on adolescents' perceptions and behaviors. A mediation model was also tested to examine whether difficulties related to sexuality act as a mediating factor between the influence of the online environment and the risk of unsafe sexual behaviors. Participants: The sample included 36 adolescents aged between 14 and 19 years. Of19 9 9 9 Of these, 75% were girls and 25% were boys. The distribution by age group was as follows: 16-17 years (58.3%), 18-19 years (25%) and 14-15 years (16.7%). The majority of participants came from urban areas (61.1%), and 38.9% from rural areas. Tools: Participants completed an online questionnaire that included questions about age, gender, education, background, and experiences related to sexuality. Variables analyzed included difficulties related to sexuality, social pressures regarding the initiation of sexual life, feelings of anxiety or guilt associated with sexuality, the influence of social networks, and exposure to sexually explicit content. Data analysis was performed using statistical correlation and mediation models. Results: The results indicate a significant relationship between the influence of the online environment and risk of early pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Also, difficulties related to sexuality are associated with a higher risk of unsafe sexual behaviors. However, the mediation model showed that difficulties related to sexuality do not significantly mediate the relationship between the influence of the online environment and the risk of early pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, as the indirect effect was not significant. Conclusion: These results highlight the importance of appropriate sexuality education for adolescents, suggesting that media influence and social pressures may directly contribute to distorted perceptions of sexuality. Although sexual difficulties play an important role in risk-taking, they do not act as a clear mediator between the online environment and risky sexual behaviors. This indicates the need for educational interventions that aim not only to provide accurate information, but also to develop skills to manage social pressures and media influences. Keywords: sex education, social pressures, media influence, adolescent perception, sexuality
