Meta-Memetics: Engineering Belief in Networked Environments
Ideas often propagate on dimensions orthogonal to truth; we model those fitness dimensions explicitly. This paper operationalizes memetic fitness as F(m, E) = A · R · X · T − C, where success depends on assimilation ease, retention, expression drivers, transmission efficiency, and cognitive/social costs. We introduce the Agency Index (Ag) to measure whether ideas are using people or people are consciously choosing to transmit ideas. We demonstrate how repetition increases perceived truth independent of accuracy, how moral-emotional language amplifies diffusion, and why false information often outcompetes truth in digital networks. We then introduce holarchic integration as both a defensive protocol against manipulation and a constructive methodology for knowledge synthesis. Includes operational tools, empirical validation, and field-tested defensive protocols. Cryptographic proofs (SHA-256, GPG, OpenTimestamps) included for verification.
