Thiruvasakam is a collection of hymns sung on the shaivite god shiva. It was composed by manickavaasagar. Manickavaasagar is one of the four saiva kuravars. Thiruvasakam is the eighth tirumurai of the twelve saiva religious hymns. The motto is that onewho does not melt in a hymn will melt in a hymn.
