Linking Enterprise Risk Management Maturity Levels and Financial Reporting Quality: A Systematic Literature Review
This study aims to examine the relationship between Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) maturity and financial reporting quality through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Using the PRISMA guidelines, 25 scientific articles published between 2010 and 2025 were analyzed thematically based on the COSO ERM Framework and the ERM Maturity Model. The analysis results indicate that a majority of the studies find a positive relationship between ERM maturity and financial reporting quality. Organizations with a higher level of ERM maturity tend to produce financial reports that are more reliable, transparent, and relevant. Factors such as internal audit effectiveness, corporate governance, and risk culture further strengthen this relationship. This study contributes by integrating the concepts of risk management and accounting, affirming that ERM maturity is a significant determinant of financial reporting quality. The research also underscores the importance of developing ERM maturity evaluation models and adopting digital financial reporting technologies to enhance organizational transparency and accountability.
