Excluded Masculinities: The (in)visible gender dimension of EU border externalisation
This research project examines how EU border externalisation policies and European supranational case law (CJEU and ECtHR) construct masculinity. Through an intersectional lens, this research examines how these discursive framings of masculinity shape access to asylum, rights protection, and the lived experiences of racialised migrant men encountering the EU's shifting externalised borders.
