Pseudo-Optimism and Emotional Homophily: A Conceptual Framework of Social Magnetism Dynamics
This independent conceptual study examines the dynamics between pseudo-optimism and emotional homophily through a multidimensional psychological and sociocultural lens. Drawing upon secondary literature, the research identifies how pseudo-optimism functions as both a social adhesive and a psychological barrier within human relationships. A novel framework of “social magnetism” is proposed, comparing emotional interactions to magnetic phenomena—temporary magnets, permanent magnets, electromagnets, and polar repulsion—to illustrate varying degrees of authenticity and energetic balance. Findings suggest that pseudo-optimism, while socially reinforced, may suppress emotional depth and self-awareness, leading to psychological stagnation. The study highlights the necessity of authentic self-reflection as a stabilizing force for sustainable optimism and human connection.
