AyuBarter: An Integrated E-commerce Platform with Barter Exchange and Tele-Consultation for Ayurvedic Healthcare
The removal of barriers to healthcare products and services because of digital advancements is not happening in the Ayurvedic wellness industry. This is because the industry is still fragmented and there are no full and reliable solutions available. In this work, AyuBarter is introduced as a complete online marketplace designed to meet the changing needs of the Ayurvedic healthcare field. The platform uses a unique three-part approach. It combines a verified marketplace for Ayurvedic products, a virtual community where people can exchange goods through barter, and a portal for tele-consultations with certified Ayurvedic experts. All these parts are connected through a central Management Information System (MIS) that helps different systems work together smoothly and efficiently, providing better and more personalized experiences for users. Evidence from a comprehensive survey of 132 individuals supports this venture, as 85% of respondents reported strong interest in reliable online Ayurvedic products, 68% considered the barter system presented to be a strong solution for economic accessibility, and 72% expressed a strong interest in Ayurvedic tele-consultation. The forthcoming sections explore the theoretical and architectural framework, operational flow, business model, and planned strawman approach to the platform. The aspiration of AyuBarter extends beyond being a business, but as a one-of-a-kind socio-technical innovation that pairs modern digital ease with the comprehensive, community-oriented ideals of Ayurveda, while also filling critical gaps in authenticity confirmation, practitioner availability, and user involvement.
