ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION AND DECARBONIZATION STRATEGIES IN THE CRUISE SHIPPING SECTOR: POLICY, TECHNOLOGY, AND HUMAN FACTORS

This article examines the ecological transition and decarbonization strategies in the cruise sector by analyzing the political, technological, and socio-technical dimensions of the process. The international regulatory framework of the IMO and the European Union is reviewed, as well as the applied technological solutions to reduce harmful emissions and increase energy efficiency. Special attention is paid to the role of the human factor and the training of maritime specialists in the implementation of green technologies. The possibilities for the use of alternative fuels and the potential of port infrastructure to achieve carbon neutrality are analyzed. The results emphasize the need for an integrated approach, uniting policy, technology, and education within the framework of the sustainable development of maritime transport.
