Time as Phase: Deterministic Coherence from Quartz Oscillators to Living Systems
CODES Framework Abstract Time is accumulated phase; each moment marks a transition of coherence. From quartz oscillators to cardiac rhythms, all stable systems maintain lawful timing by correcting phase drift. When correction fails, coherence collapses—manifesting as disorder, aging, or computational instability. This paper formalizes time as deterministic phase evolution and demonstrates that physical, biological, and computational oscillators obey one measurable drift law: Δθ ≤ ω·ε_drift ⇔ PAS ≥ θ_lock. With ε_drift ≈ 10⁻⁹ s defining the tolerance of lawful systems, the VESSELSEED architecture measures and restores biological coherence (PAS_bio, ELF_BIO, TEMPOLOCK), while the Resonance Intelligence Core (RIC) verifies deterministic inference through replay-identical proofs. Replacing statistical averaging with reproducible phase correction, this framework unites physics, physiology, and computation under a single coherence law. Aging, AI safety, and deep-space navigation are redefined as coherence problems, not entropy problems—linking time, life, and intelligence through one universal phase principle.
