Misinformation, disinformation, and the fight for health
In the 10 months since the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, the USA has dismantled much of its vaccine regulatory framework, including firing the entire US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, withdrawing grants for the development of promising mRNA vaccines, and terminating multiple US National Institutes of Health grants studying different life-saving vaccines, vaccine hesitancy, and strategies to increase vaccination uptake among underserved communities.
