Design and Performance Analysis of Low-Friction Bearing for Enhanced Mechanical Efficiency

Bearings are essential components in rotating machinery, responsible for supporting loads and reducing friction between moving parts. The present study focuses on the design and development of a low-friction bearing aimed at improving mechanical efficiency and service life. Various bearing materials, surface coatings, and lubrication methods were analyzed to minimize energy loss due to friction. Experimental and simulation-based analyses were performed to study temperature rise, wear rate, and load-carrying capacity under different operating conditions. The results indicate that hybrid ceramic bearings and nano-lubricant coatings can significantly reduce friction coefficients and wear compared to conventional steel bearings. This research contributes to the development of more energy-efficient and durable bearing systems suitable for automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications
