CHALLENGES FACING E-LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION IN JIGAWA STATE EDUCATION

This paper examines the factors hindering the effective implementation of e-learning in the educational system of Jigawa State, Nigeria. E-learning plays a critical role in enhancing public knowledge, skills, and national development, yet its adoption in the state faces several challenges. Data for the study were obtained from the Jigawa State Ministry of Education and through a review of relevant literature, supplemented by primary data collected via structured research questions and reliable selection procedures. Findings highlight barriers such as limited access to personal computers, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient institutional support. The study recommends that tertiary institution management, in collaboration with the government, establish mechanisms to facilitate undergraduate students’ access to personal computers and strengthen the overall e-learning infrastructure. By addressing these deterrents, e-learning can be more effectively implemented, improving educational outcomes in the state.
