Enhancing the Understanding of Pile Behavior Through Combined Analysis of PDA And PIT Test Data

The present investigation provides a detailed examination of pile behavior based on data from the SASEC Dhaka-Sylhet Corridor Road Investment Project using Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) and Pile Integrity Testing (PIT). The purpose was to use non-destructive testing techniques to rapidly assess pile capacity and structural integrity. The study employed high strain dynamic pile testing (HSDPT) to track force and velocity in order to assess load-bearing capability. Subsequent analysis was done using CAPWAP software. The mobilized pile capacity, as measured through the dynamic pile tests, was 4198 kN. When pile shaft integrity was evaluated via PIT testing, certain small impedance losses emerged at specified depths, despite the allowed range of values. The outcomes provide suggestions to strengthen testing processes for improving structural performance and safety and demonstrate the accuracy of PDA and PIT testing in evaluation of foundation of building, especially in large-scale construction initiatives.
