D3.6 - Legal and Organisational Requirements and Procedures
The OurHealth@PT – Expansion of the Cross-border services in Portugal and implementation of the Laboratory Results service (LRR) is an action co-funded by European Union’s EU4Health programme that will further support Portugal’s objectives to enhance and improve its national cross-border services, with the aim of providing national and European Union (EU) citizens with the opportunity to make full use of the MyHealth@EU services and progress towards a wider range of services offered. To ensure these goals, Work Package (WP) 3 – Preparation, implementation and pre-production testing aims to design a national deployment plan to implement cross-border eHealth services, preparing and executing national activities in alignment with the eHealth Digital Service Infrastructure (eHDSI) Operations Framework. In order to ensure a smooth implementation of the service, and that it is aligned with the EU priorities, D3.6 - Legal and Organisational requirements and procedures aims to establish the legal framework at national level regarding the new service, including data protection rules, to ensure compatibility with the MyHealth@EU framework. It will be aligned with the eHN Organisational Framework for NCPeH and it will also entail the identification and assignment of roles, procedures and tasks to the specific actors, including the involvement of institutions relevant for the provision of Country A services (i.e., patient consent management) and Country B services (i.e., Point of Care such as Emergency Wards and Pharmacies).By addressing legal and organisational compliance within the service implementation of the LRR, it is foreseen that this service should be able to integrate the MyHealth@EU infrastructure and reinforce the digital health ecosystem in Portugal, and ultimately across the EU. Through systematic planning, monitoring, and continuous improvement, this initiative will contribute to a more integrated, secure and efficient digital health landscape, ultimately benefiting both healthcare providers and patients.
