Binarity of B[e] and B supergiants using Proper Motion anomaly with Gaia data
A near–complete sample of stars with the B[e] phenomenon, and B supergiants is compiled and placed in the Hertzsprung–Russell (HR) diagram, using data from the Gaia Data Release 3 (DR3) catalog to estimate their luminosities. By comparing the position and proper motions in different Gaia Data Releases (DR2 and DR3), we search for stars that may exhibit a Proper Motion Anomaly (PMa). The PMa has been studied before as an indicator of binarity and can resolve binaries with a separation of much less than an arcsec. This work analyzes the binary fraction in B[e] and B supergiant stars, alongside their location in the HR diagram.
