Performance Optimization and Architectural Evolution in React Native Mobile Applications
This paper benchmarks React Native’s New Architecture—Fabric, JSI, and TurboModules—against the legacy Bridge model. Using a mid-scale e-commerce app on Pixel 7 (Android 14) and iPhone 13 (iOS 17), it measures startup latency, frame stability, and memory usage across Bridge vs New Architecture, Hermes vs JSC, and before vs after developer-level optimizations. Results show up to 42 % faster startup, 46 % higher FPS, and 35 % lower memory footprint. Combined adoption of Hermes, lazy loading, and render control yields a 57 % cumulative startup improvement, bringing React Native performance closer to native standards for enterprise-grade apps.
