This academic essay presents a systematized literature review of national and international sources published between 2017 and 2024. The study highlights the importance of participatory methods, interdisciplinarity, digital technologies, and ongoing professional training in the success of health education strategies. Despite their recognized potential, structural limitations and professional overload remain significant challenges. The analysis reaffirms that investing in health education is essential for empowering individuals and strengthening comprehensive care within the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS).
