EDUCATIONAL INNOVATIONS WITH CHATGPT: OPPORTUNITIES, CHALLENGES, AND LITERATURE PERSPECTIVES
ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI and powered by artificial intelligence (AI), has seen widespread adoption across multiple sectors, including education. Its rollout highlights the potential for AI to supplement, and in some cases partially replace, human effort in specific tasks. This narrative literature review examines the opportunities and challenges associated with integrating ChatGPT tools into educational services, drawing on existing scholarly articles. Using an integrated approach to synthesize and analyze the literature, the study identifies research gaps and offers conclusions on the use of AI in education. Findings suggest that ChatGPT can be a valuable educational tool if implemented carefully, serving as a supplement rather than a replacement for traditional learning. Successful integration requires attention to issues of equity, ethics, and plagiarism. When used ethically and under supervision, ChatGPT has the potential to enrich teaching and learning experiences, improve educational outcomes, and create new learning opportunities, while maintaining the integrity of conventional educational practices.
