Epigenetic Scanner for Diagnosis and Command (E.S.D.C.)
Regenerative medicine has shown that the epigenetic state is plastic and, under controlled conditions, partly reversible. The ESDC (Epigenetic Scanner for Diagnosis and Command) is a conceptual platform that integrates: (i) acquisition and modelling of epigenetic maps based on multi‑omic and spatial data; (ii) an 'epigenetic command' module able to deliver safe and reversible molecular instructions; (iii) a selective elimination module to debulk pathological tissues; and (iv) a pro‑regenerative microenvironment. We propose the composite index ψ‑One to quantify the 'epigenetic order' of tissues and to steer therapeutic decisions with feedback. We outline the state of the art, current limitations (e.g., the lack of whole‑organ in‑vivo epigenetic imaging), a development roadmap, and safety/regulatory requirements. The goal is to enable in‑situ regeneration while reducing reliance on transplantation and large‑scale cell infusions. Note: this document summarizes conceptual elements associated with a provisional patent application filed at the USPTO in 2025
