The Structural Impossibility of the Continuum Hypothesis: A Tripartite Framework
This work presents a structural impossibility theorem for the Continuum Hypothesis (CH), showing that the continuum’s defining properties—Separability, the Baire Category property, and Measurability—form a tripartite basis that precludes any countable cardinality mapping. Using formal proofs verified in the Lean 4 theorem prover, the paper demonstrates that any space satisfying these three conditions cannot admit a CountableCardinalityFunctor. The result reframes CH not as a question of undecidability within ZFC, but as a structural incompatibility between the topological, categorical, and measure-theoretic aspects of the continuum. Counterexamples establish the minimality of the basis, and the work situates this impossibility within a broader category-theoretic and formal verification framework.
