MEMODIAS Educational Toolkit

This toolkit was developed within the project Memodias – Memory Practices of the Afghan and Somali Diasporas in the USA and Italy, funded by the MSCA Global Postdoctoral Fellowship (2022–2025) in collaboration with the University of Milan, The New School (New York), and Asinitas (Rome). It offers a set of participatory and creative activities designed to explore memory practices and foster solidarity among diasporic communities. Combining biographical research and collective workshops, the toolkit provides adaptable methods for educators, researchers, and community facilitators to create shared spaces of reflection through multimodal approaches – visual, auditory, and tactile – culminating in the symbolic construction of a “city of diasporic memories.”
