From Seismic Episodes to Gravitational Ringdowns – Empirical Evidence for a Universal Energy–Coherence Law

This dataset and companion paper extend the framework introduced in From Einstein’s Irreversibility to a Universal Scaling Law of Coherence by testing the same coherence–dissipation dynamics across gravitational and seismic domains. Here we demonstrate that both seismic ringdowns and LIGO black-hole ringdowns obey a common empirical energy law: E ≈ (τ × f)^γ, with γ = 1.9 ± 0.1 and an approximately invariant ratio: K = E / (τ × f) ≈ constant. This near-quadratic scaling unites the physics of damping — from crustal vibrations to spacetime oscillations — under a single empirical principle. The Zenodo bundle contains all CSV datasets used for the analyses, including seismic episode catalogs (SVR Seismic v2.9.10), LIGO ringdown parameters, pulsar timing data, and validation tables, together with metadata, license, and integrity hashes. It provides a reproducible reference for further cross-domain studies of coherence, dissipation, and energy release.
