BOOSTING RURAL AGRI- ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR WOMEN TO CURB RURAL OUT- MIGRATION
Rural-urban migration, particularly among women, has been a growing concern in developing economies due to limited economic opportunities, gender disparities, and lack of infrastructure in rural areas. This paper explores how empowering women through rural agri-business initiatives can mitigate migration by enhancing livelihood opportunities, fostering financial independence, and improving rural socio-economic conditions. By analyzing case studies, policy frameworks, and entrepreneurial models, this research highlights the potential of agri-business in reducing female outmigration while promoting sustainable rural development .By transforming women from subsistence farmers to job creators and linking them to higher-value segments of the agri-food system, these initiatives not only enhance household incomes and food security but also anchor communities by making rural livelihoods more attractive and economically viable. The successful establishment of women-led agri-enterprises serves as a powerful deterrent to out-migration, fostering inclusive and resilient rural development.
