DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF UV SPECTROSCOPIC METHOD FOR QUANTITATION OF VALSARTAN TABLET DOSAGE FORM
The UV spectroscopic method used to measure Tadalafilinvolves dissolving the drug in dichloromethane and thendiluting it with methanol. The absorbance of Tadalafil ismeasured at a wavelength of 284 nm, with methanol serving asthe reference. This method adheres to Beer‘s law within theconcentration range of 10 to 40 mcg/ml. The resulting linearequation is y = 0.01013x + 0.10100, and the correlationcoefficient is 0.99940. The UV spectroscopic method formeasuring Valsartan relies on determining the ultravioletabsorbance maximum of the drug at 230 nm, using acetonitrileas the diluent. The method follows Beer‘s law in theconcentration range of 2.5 to 25 mcg/ml, with the linearequation y = 0.05702x - 0.02740 and a correlation coefficientof 0.997. Additionally, the drug obeys Beer‘s law within theconcentration range of 2.5 to 15 mcg/ml. Both methods aresimple, fast, and do not involve complicated sample preparationsteps, making them economical and suitable for routine qualitycontrol applications. In conclusion, the developed methods are effective for the analysis ofthe selected drugs in both bulk and tablet forms.
