EXPLORING BANKING EMPLOYEES' VIEWS ON CSR INITIATIVES IN HARYANA'S BANKING SECTOR
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an integral part of the business framework in India, particularly after the introduction of the Companies Act, 2013, which made CSR spending mandatory for eligible organizations. The banking sector, being a key driver of socio-economic development, plays a vital role in undertaking CSR initiatives that address community needs, financial literacy, education, healthcare, and social development. This study aims to analyze the perception of banking employees in Haryana towards CSR activities and to examine the relationship between their demographic profiles and their views on CSR. A total of 148 banking employees from both public and private sector banks in Haryana were selected through a random sampling technique, ensuring diverse representation across institutions and job roles. Data collected through a structured questionnaire was analyzed using statistical tools, including one-sample t-tests, to assess employees’ perceptions. The findings indicate that employees feel encouraged to participate in CSR activities, believe that CSR programs effectively address societal needs, and perceive that such initiatives create a noticeable impact on social development. The results suggest that CSR initiatives in Haryana’s banking sector are positively acknowledged by employees and are contributing to community welfare. This study highlights the importance of employee involvement in CSR activities, which not only strengthens the effectiveness of such programs but also enhances organizational reputation and sustainable growth.
