The Open Education Training Roadmap: From Adopting OER to Co-Creating Knowledge for Social Justice
Open Education is more than the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER); it represents a transformative approach to teaching and learning that challenges traditional hierarchies, values collaboration, and promotes social justice. This poster presents a structured yet flexible professional learning pathway designed to guide educators on a journey from the practical adoption of OER to the implementation of Open Pedagogies (OP) as catalysts for inclusive, participatory, and socially engaged education. Our approach moves beyond a one-size-fits-all workshop. Instead, we offer a progressive pathway of three workshops and an interactive game, scaffolding educators’ understanding and practice from foundational skills to critical, community-engaged application. Together, they invite educators to critically reflect on openness, experiment with open practices, and co-create strategies to embed openness across curricula and communities.
