SUSTAINABLE INTERACTIVE INTERIOR DESIGN BASED ON VIRTUAL REALITY TECHNOLOGY TO REDUCE EMPLOYEE PSYCHOLOGICAL STRESS
ABSTRACT Purpose: As work pressures grow, employee mental well-being has become a critical concern for organizations focused on sustainability. This study explores the primary causes of psychological stress among employees and its impact on job performance, highlighting the need for sustainable workplace practices. Methodology: We developed a virtual interior design system using virtual reality technology, enabling employees to experience various sustainable work environments. This approach fosters a connection with nature and enhances well-being through eco-friendly design elements. Findings: By simulating scenarios and analyzing physiological and survey data, we found that specific virtual designs emphasizing sustainability significantly reduce psychological stress, improving emotional states and work efficiency. The experimental group exposed to these sustainable virtual environments showed a 21% increase in work efficiency compared to the control group. Practical Implications: This research underscores the potential of integrating virtual reality and sustainable design to create health-promoting workspaces and offers valuable insights for businesses seeking to reduce stress while advancing sustainability.
