Design and Simulation of a Wearable Textile Antenna for Military Applications

This research presents the design and simulation of a dual-band wearable textile antenna, intended for seamless integration into military uniforms and tactical gear. The antenna utilizes a flexible jeans cotton substrate and a high-impedance surface (HIS) to achieve efficient operation at 2.66–2.88 GHz and 6.10–6.30 GHz. Its architecture ensures robust forward gain, wide bandwidth, and significantly reduced backward radiation, thus protecting the wearer and enhancing communication reliability. Through ANSYS HFSS simulations, the proposed antenna demonstrates high efficiency (over 80%), strong impedance matching (S11 below −24 dB), and stable performance even under bending conditions. The combination of comfort, lightweight construction, and advanced electromagnetic behavior makes this antenna a promising solution for modern military wireless networks, body-centric communication, and future battlefield connectivity.
