Preparedness and Response of Health Systems in Helicopter Crash Incidents: A Scoping Review Protocol
Helicopter crashes represent complex and high-risk events that require rapid and effective crisis management. Despite their significance, limited research has systematically explored crisis management practices, performance indicators, and lessons learned from helicopter crash incidents. This scoping review aims to map the available evidence on crisis management in helicopter crashes, with a focus on preparedness, response, and organizational learning. The review will be conducted in accordance with the JBI methodology for scoping reviews and guided by the Arksey and O’Malley framework. A comprehensive search strategy will be developed using keywords related to crisis management, helicopter crashes, performance indicators, and organizational learning. Both peer-reviewed and gray literature will be considered. Two independent reviewers will screen studies for eligibility, and data will be extracted using a piloted charting form. Findings will be synthesized both quantitatively and qualitatively, and presented in tables, figures, and a narrative summary.
