AI and Mortality: The End of Life and the Persistence of Code

This paper contributes to the literature by examining the concept of mortality in artificial intelligence. It argues that while code enables a form of digital immortality, the absence of finitude strips existence of meaning. True intelligence, human or artificial, requires the possibility of death as the foundation of freedom, evolution, and significance.
