OPTIMAL CONDITIONS FOR EXTRACTION OF POLYSACCHARIDES FROM F. kuhistanica MEAL
This study presents the results of optimizing the extraction conditions for water-soluble polysaccharides (WSPS) from the marc of the aerial parts of Ferula kuhistanica Eug. Kor., a by-product generated during the production of the veterinary drug "Kufestrol" after extraction with 90% ethanol. It was established that aqueous extracts of the marc exhibit pronounced prebiotic activity, which justified the selection of water extraction at room temperature as the basis for obtaining the "Arbifilan" substance. Three extraction methods were investigated: static infusion, extraction with mechanical stirring, and extraction with forced circulation of the extractant. The highest yield of WSPS (7.62%) and extractive substances (12.16%) was achieved using the forced circulation method with water (hydraulic module 1:18, circulation rate 80 L/h). Optimal time parameters were determined: 4 hours for the first extraction stage, and 3 hours each for the second and third stages. These findings formed the basis for developing a technology to produce the prebiotic substance "Arbifilan" with high biological activity, suitable for applications in the pharmaceutical, food, and veterinary industries.
