Innovative Space Telescope with Distributed Aperture

This concept introduces a novel space telescope operating as a distributed-aperture interferometer. Unlike conventional segmented telescopes, its mirrors form an interferometric array with an extremely wide baseline, enabling unprecedented angular resolution. Operating in microgravity conditions allows the structural framework to be made from ultra-light composite materials. The absence of gravitational stress means that the support frame can remain minimal and tension-free, making the mirror system exceptionally light and inexpensive to launch into orbit. The interferometric baseline is expected to reach up to 100 meters, providing an angular resolution roughly 2.5 times higher than that of the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT), currently under construction on Earth. The project merges technical innovation with conceptual and artistic expression โ€” redefining the idea of an orbital telescope as a next-generation observational interferometer.Latest editorial updates and visual materials are available at:๐Ÿ”— tinyurl.com/SpaceLightTelescope
