Simulation study on control system parameter optimization for suppressing transient voltage rise at new energy generator terminals in DC near-zones of weak-resource power systems
From the perspective of grid-following control system mechanism, this paper conducts theoretical analysis and supplementary simulation studies on DC control systems, new energy generation control systems, and reactive power compensation devices that influence transient voltage rise. The rectifier current control loop, voltage-dependent current order limiter (VDCOL) link, and commutation failure prediction function loop in DC control systems are identified as the primary control elements affecting the commutation failure recovery process. The control strategy optimization achieves comparable voltage suppression performance to synchronous condensers but with 80%-85% lower configuration costs. This approach serves as a cost-effective alternative to rotating equipment, particularly suitable for large-scale new energy DC transmission systems where transient voltage rise suppression and economic efficiency are both prioritized.
