Evaluation of Organic Fungicides for the Management of Anthracnose in Cucumber in Georgia, 2024
Anthracnose in cucumbers is caused by Colletotrichum orbiculare, an economically important disease in cucumber with the potential to cause significant yield losses, which can occur in pre- and postharvest phases of the cropping period. The pathogen causes symptoms on all aboveground plant parts including leaf, stem, and fruits. Symptoms on leaves appear yellowish to dark brown in color that gradually result in falling off of necrotic tissue at the center, giving it a shot-hole appearance. Symptoms on fruit appear as sunken and round, black- to orange-colored lesions with salmon-colored spores. This report evaluates the efficacy of organic fungicides for the management of cucumber anthracnose in Georgia.
