Error analysis of Gauss quadrature approximation to hypergeometric functions

Abstract Exploiting the contour integral representation of the remainder term in Gaussian quadrature, in this work we derive explicit error approximations for the computation of the confluent and the Gauss hypergeometric functions by means of the Gauss-Jacobi rule. Some numerical examples illustrate the quality of the estimates.

Abstract

Abstract Exploiting the contour integral representation of the remainder term in Gaussian quadrature, in this work we derive explicit error approximations for the computation of the confluent and the Gauss hypergeometric functions by means of the Gauss-Jacobi rule. Some numerical examples illustrate the quality of the estimates.
