Multistakeholders engagement in sustainability planning
Abstract To provide more sustainable outcomes, JAPrevent NCD Consortium has different mechanisms of engagement with the key stakeholders groups, when discussing the sustainability of the actions. Key mechanisms are Policy Decision Making Forum (PDMF), engagement with health attaches and engagement with Youth Advisory Group (YAG) of the JAPreventNCD. Policy Decision Making Forum is a policy advisory board to the JA, consisting mainly of the relevant European Commission Directorates and Agencies. Forum is asked to provide critical feedback on the feasibility of implementation of the proposed JA recommendations. In 2025, policies to reduce pressure of unhealthy products to children and public food procurement policies will be discussed at the Forum. Network of Health Attachés at the EU and Network of Health Attachés at the WHO levels are regularly informed on the developments at the policy levels. At the beginning of JA, only 40 % of Consortium partners from the participating EU Member States were familiar with the role and functions of health attaches. Capacities were built for better understanding of the sustainability potential of collaboration with both networks. Identification and engagement with relevant organized youth groups at the national levels in Member States is facilitated in JA. Transparent protocol was defined for the identification of the candidates for the Youth Advisory Group of JA and strict selection process was in place for the nominations, which were approved by the Competent authorities. Youth Advisory Group was established early 2025 and has 33 members which are balanced in a number of dimensions (gender, age, profession, others). Organized youth will be actively involved in the process of implementing JA PreventNCD activities and preparing recommendations. Successful implementation of the JAPreventNCD stakeholders actions are taking many learning points from already concluded EU projects such as STOP, CO-Create, JPI PEN and JA Best-ReMaP.
