Efficacy and safety of the combination of succinate trazodone and gabapentin (Trazapentine® tablets) on quality of life in cats with chronic kidney disease
The results of the study demonstrated a high safety profile of the combined use of gabapentin at a dose of 4.5-6 mg/kg and succinate trazodone at a dose of 1.5-2 mg/kg twice daily for 14 days in cats with chronic kidney disease. During a 14-day course of treatment with Trazapentine® in cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD) stages 1-3 (creatinine 136–556 µmol/L), no adverse reactions associated with the drug were recorded. The differential effectiveness of Trazapentine® was established depending on the stage of CKD. Administration of the drug to cats with stages 1 and 2 renal failure resulted in a clinically and statistically significant improvement in quality of life.
