Making best practice portals attractive to policymakers
Abstract The Finnish Best Practice Portal (FBPP) has been under development since 2019, and will officially launch at the EPH conference 2025 in Helsinki - a major step for evidence-based practice in Finland. Supported by the Finnish Government since 2021 and by Next GenerationEU (RRF) since 2022, the FBPP offers: a) A digitalized editorial system: Scientific peer review of evidence-based practices (EBPs) using commensurable evaluation criteria. b) Evaluation reports: The systematic descriptions of the EBPs and peer reviews are published in the Practices in Health Promotion publication series (ISSN 2737-2936). c) Search and comparison service: Comparison of the effectiveness of EBPs (e.g., tables, pictures, graphs, maps). The FBBPP will equip policymakers and public health professionals with a valuable tool for strategic decision-making, helping allocate limited resources to the most impactful practices, maximizing health promotion outcomes.
