Development and coherence of the policy recommendations

Abstract ECAC5 marks a significant departure from previous editions by including, for the first time, policy recommendations to support environments that enable cancer prevention. These recommendations are designed to complement individual-level guidance, recognising that population-level cancer risk is shaped by structural, commercial, and environmental determinants. This presentation will describe the methodological approach taken to identify, formulate and align the policy recommendations with the ECAC5 for the public. Drawing on the collective expertise of public health professionals, researchers, and policy experts, the recommendations were developed through a rigorous process ensuring consistency with existing international and EU-level policies and strategies on cancer, health promotion, and noncommunicable disease prevention, which will be detailed during the presentation.
