Optimal configuration and comprehensive return-on-investment analysis of industrial and commercial energy storage

This study proposes a load regulation and charging-discharging optimization strategy, along with a comprehensive investment return analysis model, for energy storage systems in industrial and commercial enterprises. By analyzing the differences in power consumption load characteristics and cost structures of enterprises, the study designs a load regulation and charging-discharging strategy aimed at minimizing annual electricity demand costs and maximizing peak-to-valley arbitrage benefits. It also develops an energy storage capacity optimization configuration method. The study integrates multiple objectives, including local consumption, load regulation, demand response, and power supply assurance, to construct a comprehensive investment return analysis model for energy storage configuration. Case studies show that the simulation of charging-discharging based on annual load characteristics and the comprehensive analysis of power supply guarantee benefits can more accurately predict the returns on energy storage investments, comprehensively evaluate the investment value of energy storage systems, and provide a scientific basis for the optimized operation and investment decisions of energy storage in industrial and commercial enterprises.
