Impact of integration educational videos on biochemistry learning

Recently, the education and teaching sector has undergone many changes in response to the needs of learners and the demands of contemporary society. This context favors the emergence of innovative teaching methods adapted to new educational expectations. The present research, aims to measure the impact of the use of educational videos as an innovative learning tool in metabolic biochemistry. To achieve this objective, we conducted an experimental study with second-year students (N=50) in the Bachelor's degree program in Life and Earth Sciences Education (LE-SVT) at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Tetouan. The results of this study show that these tools boosted student’s motivation and improved their understanding of biochemistry concepts. The effectiveness of these tools was evaluated with tests conducted before and after our intervention, showing a positive impact and a significant improvement in students' grades from 9.52 to 13.04. Overall, this study suggests that the integration of educational videos significantly improves student motivation and performance, with a normalized gain of 0.34 and Cohen's d of 1.8. In conclusion, educational videos can be a powerful learning tool for improving the learning of biochemistry.
