Computational Techniques Behind Modern Visual Effects: A Technical Perspective
This paper explores the computational foundations of modern Visual Effects (VFX), highlighting key techniques like ray tracing, fluid simulation, and motion capture. It explains how GPU acceleration and shader programming enable real-time VFX in games and virtual reality. The integration of AI, including CNNs and GANs, is transforming animation and content generation. Challenges such as memory management and latency are addressed alongside optimization strategies. A case study on Unreal Engine’s virtual production illustrates the future of immersive, intelligent VFX workflows.
