The Rhythm of Attention: Tracing Spiral Waves of Change in Art, Science, and Technology

In this opening keynote speech at the 41st CCSE Eastern Regional Conference, I introduced a theoretical framework to identify and explain long-range spiral wave models as macroscopic patterns of change and illustrated how they appear across a diverse range of creative and disruptive activities in art, science, and technology. I also explained the role of attention and interest as triggers that lead to turns and returns of waves.
